late night thought

is there this inevitability in the human need for growth? can any habit be sustained without change in some form? and to what extent does this impact relationships- when one gets bored or subconsciously craves something new, what happens then? and how do you maintain stagnation without feeling the need for something more, when what you have is already the more you once desired? does it simply boil down to gratitude and reflection? or is there a secret to the innate human desire to consume more and more and more until forever is no longer enough?
